The Magnavox Odyssey was the start of the console generation, their successes lead to the development of the consoles you know today.

After the success of this console the creators Atari decided to give it an upgrade 3 years later with the Magnavox Odyssey 100 and Magnavox Odyssey 200 these included more advanced parts and a more appealing appearance.

1975: Atari released a home version of the arcade game “Pong”. It was a small box with the controllers built into it, 2 small dials to control the pong paddles.

PC

1939 and 1940: Early concept computers were created like the "HP 200A Audio Oscillator" which was like a computer didn't have many uses so it was mainly used by engineers and test equipment. Mesmerized by the machine "Walt Disney ordered eight of the 200B model to use as sound effects generators for the 1940 movie Fantasia.”

Complex Calculators were also created and these are known as the "first remote access computing."

1941: One of the first functional computers made by "Konrad Zuse called the Z3 computer.""The Z3 was an early computer built by German engineer Konrad Zuse working in complete isolation from developments elsewhere."

1974: "Researchers at the Xerox Palo Alto Research Center designed the Alto — the first work station with a built-in mouse for input. The Alto stored several files simultaneously in windows, offered menus and icons, and could link to a local area network. Although Xerox never sold the Alto commercially, it gave a number of them to universities. Engineers later incorporated its features into work stations and personal computers."

1976: "Steve Wozniak, a young American electronics expert, designed the Apple-1, a single-board computer for hobbyists. With an order for 50 assembled systems from Mountain View, California computer store The Byte Shop in hand, he and best friend Steve Jobs started a new company, naming it Apple Computer, Inc.  In all, about 200 of the boards were sold before Apple announced the follow-on Apple II a year later as a ready-to-use computer for consumers, a model which sold in the millions."

1977: "The Apple II became an instant success when released in 1977 with its printed circuit motherboard, switching power supply, keyboard, case assembly, manual, game paddles, A/C power cord, and cassette tape with the computer game "Breakout." When hooked up to a color television set, the Apple II produced brilliant color graphics."
Computers where growing in popularity and companies were beginning to see the potential in them this was noticed quite easily with the release of the "TRS-80 which sold 10,000 units, well more than the company´s projected sales of 3,000 units for one year. Priced at $599.95."

1984: "Apple Computer launched the Macintosh, the first successful mouse-driven computer with a graphic user interface, with a single $1.5 million commercial during the 1984 Super Bowl. Based on the Motorola 68000 microprocessor, the Macintosh included many of the Lisa´s features at a much more affordable price: $2,500." This was a gigantic jump in the advancements of computers.

1985: One of the first easily up-gradable computers was made called "The Amiga 1000 which sold for $1,295 dollars (without monitor) and had audio and video capabilities beyond those found in most other personal computers. It developed a very loyal following and add-on components allowed it to be upgraded easily."

Mobile

Mobile games started with a simple game called Snake which "first appeared in 1997 on the Nokia 6610. It has been estimated that over 400 million copies have been shipped since and it's now in its eighth version. Not bad for a game that started life as a some black squares moving on a green background."

1990-Present: Mobile gaming increased incredibly fast thanks to the easy access to the internet thanks to wireless application protocol also known as WAP there are other methods that were used but this was the most popular.

2000: The year where Mobile games were born and drastically grew in popularity.
"One of the most important was publisher JAMDAT Mobile." Alot of companies like JAMDAT Mobile started in the early 2000 which helped populise the mobile gaming industry.

Mobile gaming is very new and is growing fast with the new advancements in technology which means creators can make better looking and higher quality game.

TV

Television gaming hasn't been given the time and money to develop the concept. From my own knowledge i know tv gaming was around a bit during the early 2000s with mini games being incorporated into popular shows for example Spongebob and Fairly odd parents which allowed the viewer to play a game to do with the show they are watching during the adverts this was the help keep the viewer on the channel but this idea was scrapped quite early on.
